Chat Channels

Where to speak, who can hear you, and which channels are IC, OOC, public, local, or restricted by player settings.

IC nearby: Talk · Whisper · Quiet · Silent · Yell
Need staff: DM channel
Looking for activity: Action channel
General OOC: OOC · PVP · Build · FFA
Color note: Channel names are colored to match their in-game chat appearance, helping players recognize them faster inside the client.

Public & Server Channels

Channel Who Sees It Use It For Status
Shout Everyone, except players with immersive mode ON. Only DMs can use it. Public DM announcements. DM IC OOC
DM Only DMs can see it. Everyone can send to it. Ask for DM help. A DM may reply by tell if available. OOC Support
Event Everyone except busy players and players with immersive mode ON. Important events or faction recruitment. Do not use it for casual party-finding. IC OOC
Action Players marked as looking for adventure. Parties, dungeon runs, shard runs, rescue requests, resurrection calls, and adventure coordination. OOC Use instead of Event
OOC Players looking for OOC conversation. Questions about Sinfar. Replies are fine, but avoid derailing the channel. OOC
PVP Arena players and players looking for PvP/OOC discussion. Builds, power-gaming, PvP talk, and arena conversation. OOC
Sex Players looking for intimate roleplay and OOC conversation. Serious ERP ideas and intimate roleplay coordination. OOC
Build Builders and players interested in Aurora Toolset discussion. House builder requests and Toolset questions. OOC
FFA Only players who enabled FFA. Free-form public discussion. Do not spam or troll it. OOC

Local IC Channels

Channel Range / Visibility Use It For Status
Talk Line of sight, not behind a door, within about 40 meters. Normal IC speech. ~40m IC unless //
Whisper Line of sight, within about 3 meters. Quiet IC speech. ~3m IC unless //
Quiet Line of sight, within about 1 meter. Very close speech. Some benches may still be too wide. ~1m IC unless //
Silent The person hugging you, within about 0.5 meters. Speaking to yourself or whispering to the person hugging you. ~0.5m IC unless //
Yell Everyone in the same area. IC yelling. Area IC unless //
Party Everyone in your party. Party coordination. OOC
Range check: Use !WHOSPY to see whether nearby players are inside your /whisper, /quiet, or /silent range.

Visibility Settings

 Player List Settings:
 Class Radial Menu → Player Tool 1 → Settings → Player List Status / Account Settings
Condition Effect
Immersive mode ON You only see tells from players in the same area.
Busy status You only see Shout and Tell messages.
FFA enabled You also see all other public channels.
OOC area You are automatically considered to be looking for OOC conversation.

Chat Channel Use Rules

Pornography / NSFW Links
Do not share pornography or rule-breaking NSFW links in public channels or the web client. Ask interested players to send tells instead.
Group / Kink Bashing
Do not publicly mock, taunt, or bash groups of characters, identities, or fetishes.
Discrimination
Do not use offensive slang against real-life groups based on race, ethnicity, gender, religion, or similar traits.
Spam
Do not rapid-fire trollish messages or use public channels for unrelated walkthroughs, movies, or excessive side chatter.
Event Channel Limits
One post per hour for a single event. One post per six hours for recruitments.
Roleplaying in Public Channels
Do not run full scenes through public chat channels. Use them to coordinate, then find players in-game.
Harassment
Do not call out players or characters negatively in public channels. Public chat is not for gossip.
