A stable starting point for smoother play on Sinfar. Apply the baseline first, test the client, and adjust visual preferences afterward.

Performance first: Neverwinter Nights is an older game running on modern hardware. Some visual settings can cause performance issues, crashes, or instability depending on the system. Higher settings are not always better in Diamond Edition.

Other Client Settings

Control Options, Game Options, Resolution, and Game Feedback Options are mostly personal preference. Resolution depends on whether you prefer fullscreen or windowed play.

For additional client-side configuration, review the nwn.ini and nwnplayer.ini references.

Diamond Edition on Lutris

Once Neverwinter Nights appears under your installed games in Lutris, right-click the banner and select Configure. Under Game Info, you may rename the game to Sinfar if desired; this changes only how it appears to you.

Game Options

Change the executable from:

NWN.EXE

to:

Sinfarx.EXE

The remaining paths should usually not need to be changed.

The next tab is much more important.  As a disclaimer, though, different users have had different results when getting into some of the runner options. If you do feel a need to experiment, Lutris will tell you which options are on or off by default.
