			Legend says that a great battle occurred in the sky where Khajak, a powerful dragon, fought a great demon. Beaten within an inch of his life, Khajak tried one last time to kill the demon. Falling into the ocean, the dragon brought the demon down with him, and their collision with the ocean floor caused a volcano to form. Encased in hardened magma, the demon was laid to rest deep under the earth, imprisoned in the volcano.

			The villagers feared that hatred would give the demon enough strength to break free, resulting in catastrophic destruction. Thus they dedicated their lives to peace and fight with passion and honor, killing only when necessary, and forbade any violence on the island. Sex was revered, said to be a means to weaken the demon, thus many of the villagers partook in it often, but never in public.

			Use of magic was also forbidden on the island in fear that its use would awaken the demon's appetite. As time went on and modern generations of villagers were born and raised on the arcane-infested isle, disagreements between the "Youngers" and "Elders" over this law manifested into a rebellion. The Youngers began practicing the arcane away from the Elders' sight, but without proper mentorship, they experienced extreme mishaps with their spells, from overgrowth of gardens to getting trapped in pocket planes, until finally, the great demon was able to break free, and with him, bring his hordes of minions.
