The Enchanting Forge

Spread Sheet for Forge properties, cost, materials, etc: http://users.skynet.be/fc387255/sinfar/crafting.htm

The enchanting forge, located in Sinifer and several other islands, it lets you add magical property to crafted items. Crafted items can currently be bought from the travelling merchant in the emporium of Sinifer and other island stores.

To enchant a crafted item, you need to put a non-enchanted, crafted items in an enchanting forge and close it. A dialog will let you select the properties that you want to add, but it is restricted.

Each items can accept a certain number of PP (Property Points) and each property cost a certain number of PP. So when you will choose a property, the forge will tell you how much PP it cost and it must be equal or bellow the number of PP left that you can put on the item.
This is for balance reasons.

After selecting the properties that you want, you will need to find the required components. The forge tells you what components you will need and how many of them. Components can be looted, but currently not all of them, so there's a merchant next to the forge that sells them.

Once you get the components, put them in the forge, with your crafted items and retry to add the properties. The forge should let you process and after some magical operations, your crafted item will be enchanted.

How to play NWN in a window

STEP 1: Copy the nwn.ini file so you have a back up.
STEP2: Open the file in Notepad
STEP3: Locate the line that says “[Display Options]”
STEP4: Add the following 2 lines

FullScreen=0
AllowWindowedMode=1

STEP5: Save and restart the game.

Old: nwn.ini
[Sound Options]
...(options)
[Display Options]
Width=800
Height=600
BitsPerPixels=.....
EDITED nwn.ini
[Display Options]
FullScreen=0
AllowWindowedMode=1
Width=800
Height=600
BitsPerPixels=....

NOTE: Setting the FullScreen=1 will make the game start full screen. FullScreen=0 will start the game in a window. You can switch from Window mode to full screen and back by tapping ALT + Enter

How to Log Your Chat:

In order to do this you must edit your nwnplayer.ini file.
This file is also located in your nwn directory (default on most comps is: C:/neverwinternights/nwn/ )

STEP 1: Copy the nwnplayer.ini file so you have a back up.
STEP2: Open the file in Notepad
STEP3: Locate the line that says “[Game Options]”
STEP4: Add the following line

ClientChatLogging=1

STEP5: Save and restart the game.

Setting this to 1 will add all player chat heard by the client to the client log. The file can be found in the "logs" directory of the NWN base install path. (default on most comps is: C:/neverwinternights/nwn/logs/ ) (eg. nwnclientLog1.txt). Note that the log will overwrite itself every time the game resets; preventing long term chat logging over multiple play sessions. This can be prevented by renaming the log after every session, or using a Log Rotator.

There is another option that you can add but I have never used:
ClientEntireChatWindowLogging=1
“Setting this to 1 will add all text that could appear in the chat window to the client log, making this a more verbose option than ClientChatLogging, as it includes (among less voluminous messages) the combat log as well as player chat.“

!body System
[/i][/b]

The !BODY command is quite the handy tool. It replaces the old Quick Appearance Change tool, in that it can save and store body-appearances upon you.

!BODY SAVE:NORMAL, if input into the chat-window, will save your current body-model under the name "NORMAL". The chat-command is not case-sensitive, so all names will be in upper-case in your menu.

Speaking of the menu, you can also access the functions in your rest menu > Quick Appearance Change > Body. If you go to the "All" function in there, you get a list of all your saved body-appearances by name.

To recall a body-appearance, you simply type in !BODY:NORMAL to recall the body-appearance named "NORMAL".

Remember when using a portrait you have to add "po_" before resref.

Web Client
[/i][/b]
http://nwn.sinfar.net/webclient.php

Even if you play in full screen mode or if you have a 600x800 screen, you should leave it running in your task bar when you play as it is now possible for world builders and houses builders to make your web client play a specific sound or music when using an object or entering an area.

The scripts can be found here: http://play.sinfar.net/houses_scriptlist.php
